Note: Sea of Japan/ Nippon Kai or Nihon Kai
I have received an advice about Map of Japan from Korea that Sea of Japan should be corrected to East Sea. Sea of Japan or Japan Sea are officially said and naturally talked in Japan. I have not known about being another name in Sea of Japan. I have carefully studied the name in maps published in the world, not published in Japan, to correct it.

1. Most maps show Sea of Japan,after looking through many maps in the world,

2. Some maps shows it like Sea of Japan(East Sea),

3. As showing especially South Korea, it is shown Sea of Japan with blanked East Sea,

4. It is said that the seas around Japan in Japan are Sea of Japan, Yellow Sea, Korean Strait, East China Sea, Philippines Sea etc. But Korea says East Sea for Sea of Japan, West Sea for Yellow Sea, South Sea for East China Sea. Those nominations are not known to be said at present or in history,Japan, South Korea,

5. China says East Sea for East China Sea/Dong Hai and South Sea for South China Sea/Nan Hai.China

6. But it is very interesting that it is said Sea of Japan by even a map bublisher who showns blanked in South Korean Map, shows the original nomination of Sea of Japan in North Kore Map, China Map, Russia Map etc.,

7. I heard Korean Goverment proposed to change those sea names to the East, West and South from korean Land in 2001. It is not known that the proposal was accepted or not by the international map organization,

8. Though I should collect it, if it is limited only in Japan, I use the Japan map from UT PCL Map Collection, because it is still said, explained, recognized and accepted as Sea of Japan, Yellow Sea, East China Sea etc. in the world.
